Great news for Windows Virtual Desktop – Microsoft acquires FSLogix

A few hours ago, Microsoft announced that they bought FSLogix. In my opinion that’s great, because FSLogix solves several known problems in VDI and Remote Desktop Services Environments:

  • Profile Management in combination with Office 365
  • OneDrive for Business roaming and caching
  • Outlook performance and search

I’ll hope all FSLogix features will be integrated in Microsoft RDS and Windows Virtual Desktop. If you don’t know FSLogix it’s a bit like User Profile Disks in Standard RDS but does way more than that. Read this post from Cláudio Rodrigues at rdsgurus.com where he compares UPD with FSLogix Containers.

Or watch this Video:

kudos @ Freek Berson who wrote first about this, in his private LinkedIn RDS and WVD Group.
